We are recruiting for a number of Production Cell Operatives to join our team based in Barnoldswick in the following roles:
As a Production Cell Operative, you’ll be a key part of our manufacturing team, responsible for producing high‑quality mattresses and beds within a fast‑paced, modern production environment. Working as part of a multi-skilled cell, you will support the safe, efficient, and consistent output of products to meet customer expectations and production targets.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and thrives in a collaborative team setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a range of machinery, tools, and equipment within the production cell (training provided).
- Assemble bed components with accuracy, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Carry out material handling tasks, including moving parts, loading machines, and preparing components for the next process stage.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to maintain production flow.
- Complete routine quality checks, reporting any defects or deviations promptly.
- Support continuous improvement activities, suggesting ideas to improve safety, efficiency, or quality.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in line with 5S principles.
- Work flexibly across different tasks within the cell to support team effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety requirements and company policies.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Good level of manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and work to defined processes
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing or hands‑on environment
- Strong team player with a positive, proactive attitude
- Willingness to learn new skills and operate different equipment
Desirable:
- Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, upholstery, or machine operation
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices
- Basic troubleshooting or problem-solving skills

Starting Salary: £24,741 plus shift allowance
Hours: 36.5 per week
Double Days Shifts:
Monday – Thursday 06:00-14:00 and Friday 06:00-13:00 / Monday – Thursday 14:00-22:00 and Friday 13:00-20:00. Must be able to work until midnight on occasion to meet peak production demands.
