Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals in need, including those with dementia, hospice care requirements, and other support needs. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalised care and support.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene.
- Provide support for individuals with dementia, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Manage behaviours effectively using appropriate behaviour management techniques.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety of both the client and yourself.
- Administer medication as prescribed, following all safety protocols.
- Provide first aid when required, maintaining a safe environment for clients.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in condition.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable.
- Experience in hospice care is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others.
- Certification in first aid is beneficial; willingness to obtain if not already certified.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and effectively as part of your duties.
