We are a private family owned, Yorkshire business with our ‘roots’ firmly in the mayonnaise and prepared salads arena. Our organisation is fast-paced, exciting, and dynamic and we are looking for a Specifications Technologist to join our busy Technical & Quality team.
This role will work closely with the QA Managers, ensuring specifications are written in line with customer requirements. This will include both customer own format and internal product specifications. You will also work alongside the NPD team to prepare nutrition, ingredient declarations and labels. You will need to keep up to date with legislation to ensure company compliance with customer specifications.
This process will require the maintenance of end to end specifications which will enable customers to complete field to fork traceability.
Applying your innovative skills, you will suggest and implement QA process improvements whilst considering customer requirements and production process. You will need to be able to document KPI’s for the department and be experienced in understanding and analysing trends.
Organisation skills will be a key part of this role as you will be updating documents, producing attribute guides along with work instructions, organising assessment and analysis, carrying out internal audits and completing non-conformance reports.
As an excellent communicator (both written and verbal), you will be liaising with customers on writing, updating and seeking customer approved specifications in conjunction with investigating and responding to complaints in a timely fashion.
You will have a sense of humour, be hard working and passionate about food. We are looking for someone who will be flexible to the business demands and offer competitive package and excellent training and development prospects tailored to your experience and development needs.
In an ideal situation you would have HACCP level 3 qualification and experience in short shelf-life food environment.
