DegreeSix is a specialist SEN agency working closely with schools across Birmingham. We support pupils in both mainstream and specialist settings, from early years through to secondary, helping children and young people with additional learning, behavioural, emotional, and communication needs thrive in education.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, Autism (ASD), ADHD, PMLD, or behavioural needs
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), Behaviour Mentor or SEND Practitioner is highly desirable
- A patient, adaptable, nurturing, and resilient attitude
- A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Relevant qualifications, SEN training, Makaton, or MAPA are desirable but not essential
The Role:
- Support pupils with learning, emotional regulation, communication, behaviour management, and social development
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and therapists to deliver personalised support plans and interventions
- Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, independence, engagement, and academic progress
- Work within specialist provisions, alternative provisions (PRUs), and SEN schools
