ABOUT THE ROLE
Thorogoods is a growing fresh produce business, and we're looking for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join our night team. You'll be working in a busy market environment, handling fresh fruit and vegetables and making sure orders go out complete, on time, and to the standard our customers expect.
This is a physically demanding, fast-paced role. Regular heavy lifting is a core part of the job, and the pace picks up when the market is at its busiest.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Picking, packing, and preparing customer orders accurately
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Handling fresh produce with care and checking quality on the way through
- Stock rotation, date checking, and keeping the warehouse clean and organised
- Working to tight deadlines to hit delivery cut-off times
- Following all health, safety, and food hygiene procedures
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Previous warehouse experience, ideally in fresh produce, wholesale, or a market environment
- Comfortable with regular heavy lifting and physically demanding work
- Happy working nights and in chilled conditions
- Good attention to detail — accuracy matters on every order
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Forklift or pallet truck licence is an advantage (not essential — training can be provided)
WHAT WE OFFER
- Starting salary up to £45,000 per year, depending on experience
- Permanent, full-time position
- Shift times, 9pm - 5.00am Sunday to Friday (with every other Sunday off)
- 24 days plus bank hols
