Specialist Joinery Estimator

The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Specialist Joinery Estimator to join their commercial team on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the estimating and tendering process across a range of bespoke joinery and fit-out projects, ensuring all pricing is accurate, competitive and completed within agreed timescales.
This role would suit someone with a strong background in specialist joinery, bespoke interiors or high-end fit-out, who is confident reviewing drawings, preparing estimates and managing tenders from enquiry through to submission.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Prepare detailed analytical estimates for bespoke joinery and fit-out projects.
- Complete labour, material and subcontractor take-offs.
- Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare and manage tender submissions.
- Agree project overheads and associated costs.
- Identify commercial risks, exclusions and scope gaps.
- Support value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain and update pricing information.
- Track tender results and maintain tender performance records.
- Assist with subcontractor and labour-only subcontractor appointments.
- Manage cost feedback from completed projects to improve future estimating accuracy.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous estimating experience within specialist joinery, bespoke joinery, fit-out or interiors.
- Strong understanding of joinery materials, manufacturing processes and finishes.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed construction and manufacturing drawings.
- Strong knowledge of labour, material and subcontractor pricing.
- Good commercial and financial awareness.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
- Strong planning, prioritisation and organisational skills.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider commercial team.
- Willingness to travel where required.
