Dalkia have and opportunity for a full time permanent Warehouse Operative on behalf of our client EDF, to join the team at our Cullompton Furniture Store.
Hours:
40 hours per week
Monday - Friday 7.30am - 4pm
Main Purpose of job:
To support our mission to achieve Net Zero working with the Warehouse Lead to receive and dispatch merchandise to and from our warehouse. The Warehouse operative will load and unload outgoing and incoming delivery vehicles. You will select products from the warehouse, load and secure goods to pallets, move inventory to delivery area, and load merchandise. You will unload stock from delivery vehicles, and transport to and store in designated warehouse positions. You will always keep your work environment clean and tidy, and comply with all relevant safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload furniture from delivery trucks.
- Checking furniture to ensure that it matches the order, looking for any damage or missing items.
- Applying asset tags to items
- Uploading information to central computer system or creating new as required
- Scanning pre-tagged furniture and entering the details into the furniture management system.
- Taking furniture to the appropriate storage space – perhaps using loading and lifting gear for heavy goods.
- Adapting and changing the storage solutions to ensure optimum use of space in conjunction with Warehouse Lead
- Keeping a careful record of the stock on the warehouse management system, so that it can be located quickly.
- Move and rearrange stock to ensure that furniture is stored safely, in an organised manner and labelled correctly.
- Picking orders using a hand-held scanner from the storage space and bringing them for packing, or to the loading bay for transportation.
- Organising transfers and loading goods on to delivery vehicles.
- Keeping the furniture management system up to date and accurate
- Taking photographs and dimensions of products to load to store management system.
- Organising and arranging repairs & replacement product works.
- Undertaking minor repairs, modifications & cleaning of products as required
- Acting as a point of support for furniture related queries
- Wrapping and loading items to protect from damage using both hand & automated systems.
- Undertake routine PPM activities as prescribed by CAFM software
Requirements:
- General Handy person experience
- Confident communicator, good interpersonal skills
- Reliable and always arrives for work on time.
- Computer literate and technologically comfortable
- Attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Driving license with ability to drive 3.5t vehicle.
- Forklift Certificate (or willingness to work towards achieving this)
- First Aid certificate (or willingness to work towards achieving this)
- Good people skills when dealing with people face to face, on calls or in writing.
- Physically strong, agile, dexterous, and willing to work as part of a team.
- Positive work history and an ability to maintain solid attendance.
- Available to support extended or out of hours working
