Due to continued growth we are seeking an experienced Stores Operative to join our busy stores department.

OFP Ltd provide optical assemblies and components to a range of markets from traditional fiber-optic networking to industrial, nuclear, space and medical applications. We design, develop, prototype and high volume manufacture for its clients and their special applications worldwide.
JOB PURPOSE
The Stores Operative will be responsible for the receiving of deliveries into the company, updating records and storing/distributing all material safely, in a controlled manner and accurately. The Stores Operative will pick and issue material for manufacture according to the correct procedures and best practice and will be responsible for packing outgoing deliveries generating the required shipping documentation accurately in line with the procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
· Processing of goods delivered into the company
· Pick and issue jobs, consumables and other items for manufacture
· Support manufacturing with job kitting activities as required
· Support any general and rolling stock counts and report
· Monitor stock expiry dates closely
· Pack and despatch all outward deliveries accurately and securely, raising all relevant documentation as required
· General tidying and organising of the stores area
· General admin support as required to support the department
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm with 1 hour lunch break.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
Essential:
· Previous experience in stores/goods-in/despatch department
· Stock control knowledge and experience
· Excellent verbal and written communication
· Attention to detail
· Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure in a controlled and calm manner, effectively and efficiently
· Strong team player, both within department and with other department peers yet capable of independent and creative thinking
· Stock take experience
· Experience in following ISO2001:2015 standards
· Strong computer skills (including excel and word)
· Ability to lift and pack heavy items and handling of pallets using equipment
Desirable:
· Experience with fibre optic products and/or small components
