Now Education are recruiting for up to 4 experienced Tutors or HLTAs to support an exciting post-16 employability programme for young people with SEND, learning difficulties and/or autism.
This is an excellent opportunity for an education professional looking to make a genuine difference by helping young people develop the skills, confidence and experience they need to progress into employment.
The Role
You will work Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.
The role will involve delivering approximately 1.5 hours of pre-planned classroom-based Functional Skills and employability education, before supporting learners within a real workplace environment to develop practical, work-specific skills.
You will work alongside dedicated Skills Coaches, who will provide additional support both during classroom-based learning and on the workplace floor.
Class sizes will remain small, with up to 8 learners at each site and up to 10 learners at the Dudley/Merry Hill location, allowing you to provide personalised support and build strong relationships with learners.

- Tipton
Driving would be beneficial but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, pre-planned Functional Skills and employability sessions
- Support post-16 learners with SEND, learning difficulties and/or autism
- Deliver and support Functional Skills development in English and Maths
- Help learners develop confidence, independence and workplace readiness
- Support learners to develop practical, transferable and employment-related skills
- Provide guidance and encouragement within a workplace setting
- Adapt teaching and learning approaches to meet individual learner needs
- Work closely with Skills Coaches and workplace staff
- Monitor learner progress and contribute to their development
- Create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Essential Requirements
- A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, CertEd or DTLLS is preferred
- Candidates with a Level 3 qualification/HLTA status will also be considered, with a willingness to undertake a Level 5 qualification following successful probation
- GCSE English and Maths or equivalent at Grade 4/C or above
- Experience working with young people with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities and/or autism is preferable
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEND
- The ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances
Desirable Experience
The following experience would be highly advantageous:
- Experience delivering Functional Skills English and Maths
- Experience working within a supported internship setting
- Knowledge of employment-related skills and training
- Experience supporting young people to develop workplace skills
- Previous experience working with learners with SEND, learning difficulties and/or autism

12 Week Temp to Perm Opportunity
The role will commence on 14th September on an initial 12-week temporary basis.
For successful candidates, there is a genuine opportunity to transition into a permanent position following the temporary period.
Permanent Salary and Benefits
£28,706 - £31,003 per annum, dependent on qualifications.
The permanent package includes:
