Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Housekeeper to oversee the cleanliness and organisation of our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a background in commercial cleaning, janitorial services, or hospital environments. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team in maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation across our premises. The Head Housekeeper will be responsible for managing daily cleaning operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and fostering a professional and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily cleaning activities of the housekeeping team to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the facility.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules, procedures, and protocols aligned with organisational policies.
- Conduct regular inspections of all areas to monitor cleanliness, safety standards, and compliance with health regulations.
- Train new staff members in proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and organisational standards.
- Manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
- Liaise with management to address any issues related to cleanliness or staff performance promptly.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines, including infection control protocols where applicable.
- Foster a positive team environment through effective communication, motivation, and professional development initiatives.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is essential; hospital or healthcare environment experience is highly desirable.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a cleaning or facilities management setting is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to cleaning operations.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of training staff and liaising effectively with management.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
