Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable Part-time Lorry Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely and professional service. This role offers flexible hours suitable for individuals seeking part-time employment with driving responsibilities, primarily involving flatbed deliveries.
Duties
- Operate flatbed lorries for local and regional deliveries in accordance with road safety regulations
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries
- Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring items are secure during transit
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys to maintain safety standards
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company policies during all driving activities
Requirements
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving, with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles
- Knowledge of safe loading and securing of goods on flatbed vehicles
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles confidently and responsibly
- Good organisational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, including early mornings or afternoons as required
