About us
Fine and Country Automotive is a premium used car dealership based in Little Sampford, Essex. We pride ourselves on a professional, well-run operation and a high standard of customer care. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an organised and personable administrator to keep the office and sales process running smoothly.
The role
This is a varied, hands-on role at the heart of the business, supporting both our sales activity and day-to-day office operations. You'll be the person who keeps paperwork accurate, customers looked after, and the office ticking over — freeing up the sales team to focus on selling. It's ideal for someone who's well organised, enjoys variety, and wants flexible hours that fit around school or other commitments.
Hours
- 20 hours per week, flexible during the week — no weekends
- Ideally 10:00am – 2:00pm across five days
- Flexible on days: if you'd prefer to work fewer days with longer hours to make up the 20, that's absolutely fine by arrangement
Key responsibilities
**Sales administration**
- Preparing and processing vehicle sales documentation (invoices, order forms, finance and warranty paperwork)
- Managing vehicle registration and V5C/DVLA administration
- Keeping the stock system and vehicle records accurate and up to date
**Liaison & customer support**
- Liaising with finance companies and brokers
- Dealing with vehicle parts suppliers
- Looking after general customers across both sales and after-sales
- Handling incoming calls, emails, and enquiries, and directing them appropriately
- Welcoming customers and providing a professional first point of contact
- Booking in vehicles and coordinating appointments and handovers
**Office & general support**
- General office administration — filing, correspondence, ordering supplies, and keeping the office organised
- Supporting the directors and sales team with day-to-day administrative tasks
- Helping maintain accurate records for compliance and reporting
Systems you'll be working with
You'll be working day to day with dealer management systems and Microsoft Office 365, so confidence with these — or a genuine willingness to learn — is important.
What we're looking for
**Essential**
- A full UK driving licence with no more than six penalty points
- Use of your own car, as the role requires travel between sites
- Strong organisational skills and good attention to detail
- Confident, friendly telephone manner and good written communication
- Comfortable with everyday computer systems (email, spreadsheets, admin software)
- Able to prioritise and work reliably with minimal supervision
- A positive, can-do attitude and a team-player approach
**Desirable**
- Previous administration experience, ideally in a motor trade, retail, or sales environment
- Familiarity with vehicle documentation or dealership systems
Pay: £13,000.00-£14,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
