About Hesta Health
Hesta Health is setting a new standard for women's health, starting with pregnancy and the two years after birth. We combine compassionate, evidence-based clinical care with technology built at the forefront of AI-native healthcare. We raised one of the largest pre-seed rounds in women's health in Europe last year, alongside grant funding.
Within months of founding we operationalised a CQC-registered multidisciplinary healthcare service, have already cared for hundreds of women, and been featured in The Times.
Co-Founders:
- Dr Sujitha Selvarajah (NHS OBGYN Doctor, global public health background, worked with the WHO and The Lancet, and ex-researcher at Oxford and UCL)
- Amanda Cupples (ex-Managing Director, Airbnb UK, Northern Europe and MEA; ex-COO, Babylon; ex-McKinsey and Deluxe)
Supported by world-leading clinical, product, and technology advisors, and backed by investors including Eka, Blue Lion, Ascension, and others.
We're early-stage: genuine ownership, genuine impact, and the chance to build something that doesn't exist yet, that changes millions of lives.
What women who've used Hesta are saying:
"Surpassed any expectations. Highly recommend."
"I have never felt this listened to or heard by a GP before. I felt very empowered and supported."
What clinicians including GPs are saying:
"This is so good. Women won't even need to see the GP with this! This is even better than most GPs."
The Opportunity
Are you an exceptional operator who loves making complex services run brilliantly while obsessing over every detail of the customer experience? Are you happiest moving between data, people and problems, getting into the details and finding a better way to make things work?
We’re looking for a Head of Operations to own the day-to-day delivery and continuous improvement of Hesta Health’s postnatal service.
You’ll be responsible for making sure the service works excellently: patients receive exceptional care, clinicians have what they need to do their best work, capacity is used effectively, and the hundreds of moving parts behind the scenes come together seamlessly.
This is a hands-on role. One moment you might be looking at data to understand why appointment utilisation has dropped; the next you might be solving a scheduling issue, supporting a clinician, improving a patient communication or redesigning a workflow with our product team.
We’re looking for someone who combines operational rigour with genuine warmth and customer obsession. You move fast, anticipate problems before they happen, and don’t wait to be asked to fix something. You care deeply about both the numbers and the individual person experiencing the service.
You'll lead on regulatory compliance across the service. That means keeping our CQC registration in good standing, making sure clinical governance, safeguarding and incident reporting processes are embedded in how the team actually works day to day, and align with our business operations.
Healthcare experience is an advantage, but it is not essential. We are particularly interested in people who have excelled in complex, fast-moving operational environments, whether that’s healthcare, marketplaces, mobility, fintech, hospitality, travel or somewhere else entirely.
Job Type: Full Time
Location: In office (London Victoria) or on-site 4-5 days/week
What You’ll DoOwn Service Delivery
- Take ownership of the day-to-day running of Hesta Health’s service, ensuring patients receive seamless, timely and exceptional care.
- Own the operational journey from onboarding and booking through appointments, follow-up and ongoing care coordination.
- Manage scheduling, clinician capacity and patient demand, making sure the right resources are in the right place at the right time.
- Monitor the service in real time, proactively identifying issues and resolving them before they affect patients.
- Coordinate across clinicians, clinical leadership, product and the wider team to keep the service running smoothly.
- Be willing to get into the detail and solve problems yourself, particularly as we build and scale.
- Work closely with Clinical and Business Operations, bridging the gap between excellent clinical practice and business performance.
Build an Exceptional Patient Experience
- Be relentlessly user obsessed, constantly asking how we can make the experience simpler, warmer, faster and better.
- Own the operational elements of the user journey and ensure every interaction reflects the standard of care we want Hesta to be known for.
- Listen closely to patient feedback and turn it into concrete improvements.
- Handle complex or sensitive patient issues with empathy, judgement and urgency, escalating clinical matters appropriately.
- Develop processes that allow us to deliver an extraordinarily personal experience as we grow.
Use data to run and improve the service
- Build a deep understanding of how the service is performing through data, not instinct alone.
- Define, track and own key operational metrics across areas such as patient experience, response times, appointment utilisation, clinician capacity, cancellations, care coordination and service quality.
- Spot patterns, bottlenecks and emerging problems, diagnose their root causes and take action.
- Run experiments and use data to understand whether changes are actually making the service better.
- Develop the reporting and operating rhythms that give the team a clear view of service performance.
Build better systems
- Take processes that are manual, messy or inefficient and make them simple, reliable and scalable.
- Design and continuously improve workflows across booking, scheduling, patient communications, clinician operations and care coordination.
- Work closely with Product and Clinical teams to identify where technology, automation and AI can improve the experience for patients and clinicians.
- Translate operational problems into clear requirements for product and engineering.
- Balance speed and pragmatism with the additional safety and governance requirements of delivering healthcare.
Build & support a brilliant clinical team
- Own operational aspects of clinician recruitment, onboarding and ongoing management.
- Help forecast clinician capacity and build the workforce required as patient volumes grow.
- Create a great day-to-day experience for clinicians, removing friction and enabling them to focus on delivering excellent care.
- Build clear expectations, processes and feedback loops across the clinical workforce.
- Work closely with clinical leadership on performance, quality and service improvement, recognising where matters require clinical judgement or escalation.
Help us launch and scale
- Build the operational foundations that allow Hesta to grow without compromising patient experience or quality.
- Launch new parts of our service, spanning digital and in person ops
- Develop playbooks, processes and systems that turn what works today into repeatable ways of working.
- Think ahead: understand where the service is likely to break at 2x, 5x or 10x the volume and start solving those problems early.
- Be an active partner to the founders and wider leadership team in shaping how Hesta's service evolves.
Who You Are
You’re an exceptionally proactive, high-agency operator who thrives in fast-moving environments. You’re analytical and data-driven, but never lose sight of the human being behind the metric. You move quickly, find solutions rather than simply identifying problems, and are comfortable switching between strategy and rolling up your sleeves to get something done.
You care enormously about the customer experience. You believe that operational excellence and extraordinary service go hand in hand, and get genuine satisfaction from making complicated things feel effortless for the person on the other side.
What You’ll Bring
- A track record built 3 years of performing exceptionally well in a complex, high-tempo operational environment where multiple people, processes and systems need to work together.
- Strong analytical skills and a habit of using data to understand performance, prioritise problems and make decisions.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills: you can take an ambiguous or messy problem, find the root cause and turn it into a practical solution.
- High ownership and bias to action. If something isn't working, your instinct is to understand it and fix it.
- Strong organisational skills and an ability to manage multiple operational priorities without dropping the details.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clinicians, patients and colleagues.
- Excellent judgement and the ability to remain calm, thoughtful and kind when things don't go to plan.
- Comfort operating in an early-stage environment where the answer, and sometimes the process, doesn't exist yet.
- Curiosity about technology, automation and AI, and excitement about using them thoughtfully to deliver better services.
- A genuine obsession with creating outstanding customer experiences.
We'll be particularly excited if...
- You’ve worked in a business building or managing complex, real-time operations or customer journeys, for example mobility, marketplaces, fintech, travel, hospitality, logistics or healthcare.
- You’ve owned meaningful operational metrics and can point to measurable improvements you've driven.
- You’ve worked in healthtech, have an understanding of healthcare operations (but this is absolutely not a prerequisite) or other regulated environments before
- Have experience of CQC regulatory frameworks or worked in regulated environments
- You’ve built or redesigned processes rather than simply operated within existing ones.
- You’ve managed or coordinated a distributed workforce, service providers or other operational teams.
Company Benefits
- You are joining a winning team.
- Join a small, mission-driven team where your contributions have immediate impact
- Work closely with the founders and have significant ownership over how Hesta grows
- Competitive salary and equity options - we’re building this together
- In office (London Victoria) or on-site 4-5 days/week
- Office facilities: spacious working space with other innovators in Victoria, bike storage, changing facilities and a healthy supply of tea and coffee
- 25 days annual leave a year + public holidays
Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
