Mon to Thu 9.00am - 6.30pm, & Fri 8.00am - 5.30pm
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and organized Transport supervisor to join our team, we are a leading distributor of tube, fittings, and valves to the building services sector in the UK.
The Transport Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our transportation and logistics processes. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to coordinate various aspects of transportation to meet customer demands.
Responsibilities:
- Route Planning and Optimization: Collaborate with the logistics team to plan optimal routes for delivery vehicles, considering factors such as traffic, distance, and time constraints.
- Order Coordination: Coordinate with the sales and warehouse teams to ensure accurate order picking, packing, and loading for timely deliveries.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate transportation and delivery records, delivery confirmations, and other relevant documentation.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies, including health and safety standards, vehicle maintenance, and driver regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements to enhance the overall transportation and logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with internal teams, drivers, and customers effectively.
- Proficiency in using transportation management software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite - Podfather software experience is a plus
- Problem-solving ability to address transportation issues and develop effective solutions.
- Knowledge of UK transportation regulations and compliance standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
