Role: Class 1 Walking Floor Driver
Location: George Henry Road, Tipton
Hours: 48 per week, Monday - Friday
Salary: Potential to earn from £38,338 per annum

We are seeking a dedicated Class 1 Walking Floor Driver to join our team in Tipton, West Midlands. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and customer service, contributing to our reputation as an established recycling business.
- Driving and operating a Class 1 vehicle.
- Operating walking floor / moving floor trailers within the waste and recycling sector.
- Completing deliveries and collections between depots.
- Complete daily vehicle check sheets and defect reports as directed by the Transport Operations Manager.
- Observe all relevant driving laws and regulations.
- Use tachographs correctly and comply with drivers’ hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
- Always provide good customer service, both over the telephone and face to face.
- Observe all health and safety requirements as directed.
- Maintain tidiness and cleanliness of vehicles and work areas at all times.
- Plan routes in the most time and fuel-efficient manner.
- Work Monday to Friday with 06:00 start times.
- Complete long, steady shifts with full use of driving hours.
- Any other duties as directed by the Transport Operations Manager.
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence with a clean driving record.
- Driver CPC qualification (or currently working towards obtaining it).
- Digital Tachograph card.
- Experience operating a mixed variety of trailer types, ideally including walking floor / moving floor trailers.
- Knowledge of drivers’ hours regulations, Working Time Directive rules, and both digital and analogue tachographs.
- Strong work ethic and reliable approach to work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional and customer-focused manner, as you will be a key customer-facing representative of the business.
- Smart and professional appearance.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to overcome challenges on the road.
- Ability to follow planned routes and schedules efficiently.
- Monday to Friday work – no weekend shifts.
- Minimal handball as trailers are self-discharging.
- Long, consistent shifts with reliable hours.
- Well-maintained vehicles and pre-planned routes provided.
