We're looking for an experienced Support Worker, Senior Support Worker, Team Leader
or Practice Lead who is passionate about people development and wants to help others
succeed to join our HR Team as a Learning and Development Trainer.
As our Learning & Development Trainer, you'll be a champion for our support staff,
working alongside services to develop skills, share best practice and create learning
opportunities that make a real difference. This is an exciting opportunity for someone
with strong care experience who is ready to take the next step in their career and help
shape the skills, confidence and practice of our support teams.
About the Role
This role has been developed to primarily support the development of our Services.
You will work closely with new and existing Support Workers, providing training,
coaching, mentoring and practical guidance to help them deliver high-quality, person centred support. You will become a trusted presence within our services, building
strong relationships with teams and supporting managers to identify learning and
development needs.
The role offers more than a move into training.
It is an opportunity to grow alongside the role, gaining exposure to different parts of the
organisation and developing a broader understanding of how people, operations and
strategy come together to achieve our organisational objectives. Working closely with
the Head of HR, you will have opportunities to contribute to workforce planning,
leadership development, succession planning and wider organisational initiatives,
making this an ideal stepping stone for someone interested in progressing within
Learning & Development, HR or people-focused leadership roles.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering engaging care-related training, including safeguarding and induction programmes.
- Supporting and mentoring new Support Workers throughout their induction and probationary period.
- Championing good practice and supporting colleagues to develop their skills and confidence.
- Facilitating reflective practice sessions and learning discussions within services.
- Completing practice observations and providing coaching and feedback.
- Supporting the completion of the Care Certificate.
- Working with managers to identify learning needs and influence training priorities.
- Embedding learning from safeguarding reviews, PBS practice and lessons learned.
- Working alongside operational teams to maintain current practice knowledge and credibility.
- Supporting the Head of HR with wider workforce development initiatives.
- Coordinate internal and external trainers.
Previous training experience would be welcome but is not essential. We are interested
in people with the right values, passion for developing others and potential.
This role has been designed as a development opportunity for someone who is
passionate about people, learning and great care. You'll be fully supported through a
tailored development plan, dedicated mentoring and training opportunities, giving you
the tools and experience needed to flourish in the role and continue your career
progression.
