Job description:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, commercially minded, and experienced Retail Supervisor to lead the team within our gift and home department. This role also includes assisting our other Supervisors and managers with daily operations to ensure the smooth running of the garden centre as a whole. If you have a passion for retail, can succesfully motivate a team and achieve sales targets, whilst ensuring excellent customer service is being delivered, then we have the perfect role for you!
It is important to us that we maintain that family friendly feeling that we have cultivated over the last 40+ years, and that we create an enjoyable environment for our customers, many of which are regular visitors and have been with our family for many years. It will be your responsibility to lead a team of sales assistants within the gift department to ensure that this is achieved. You will lead them in merchandising attractive displays and maintaining stock levels, always creating a new look for your customers to increase rotation of stock and drive sales. You will be responsible for ensuring the eficiency of stock inventory on our EPOS system and ensuring that your team are delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all customers receive outstanding service.
- Oversee inventory management, including re-ordering current stock, and identifying any lines that are not selling through and may need additional measures to ensure they sell through.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards, ensuring products are displayed in an attractive and accessible manner.
- Regularly audit stock levels to ensure that all stock is fairly represented.
- Assist with store opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and security protocols.
- Ensure the store is clean, organised, and safe for customers and employees.
- Help create a positive brand image by maintaining the store’s atmosphere and customer experience.
- Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Retail Supervisor or in a similar leadership role, preferably in the gift or retail industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyse sales and inventory data and make decisions based on key insights.
- Passion for retail and customer service, with a keen eye for visual merchandising.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends, and holidays as needed.
