Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our logistics team. As a small, family-run business with over 35 years of experience, we pride ourselves on providing a personal service while maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and customer care.
In this key role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely collection and delivery of seafood between suppliers and customers across the UK. As the face of the business on the road, you will provide excellent customer service while ensuring all collections and deliveries are completed efficiently and in line with food safety, transport, and company procedures.

Location
Our main depot is based in Amble, Northumberland. We also offer the option for the successful candidate to start and finish their working day in North Shields, where operationally suitable.
Working Hours
This role involves a variety of shift patterns to support our nationwide collection and delivery operations, including day shifts, night shifts and occasional weekend work. A flexible approach to working hours is required to meet the needs of the business.

Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle in accordance with all road traffic legislation, company policies, and transport regulations.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure optimal safety and operational standards.
- Collect seafood from suppliers and deliver to customers across the UK in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload goods safely, maintaining product quality and adhering to food safety requirements.
- Plan and manage delivery routes efficiently to ensure collections and deliveries are completed on schedule.
- Provide excellent customer service, communicating professionally with customers, suppliers, the transport manager, and colleagues.
- Complete all delivery paperwork, vehicle checks, and records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and professionalism, taking pride in both your vehicle and your work.
- Represent the company in a professional manner, building positive relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Comply with all health and safety, driver hours, and Working Time Directive regulations at all times.
Experience & Requirements
- A clean HGV Class 2 driving licence.
- A valid Driver CPC qualification card.
- Due to insurance requirements, we ideally seek drivers aged 30 or over with a minimum of two years’ HGV driving experience preferred. However, we are open to discussing opportunities with the right candidate based on their experience and driving record.
- Experience using a pallet truck is preferred but not essential, as full training can be provided for the right candidate.
