Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and staff management.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure that all food safety regulations are adhered to, maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
- Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and service standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed while minimising waste.
- Maintain a positive working environment, fostering teamwork and communication among kitchen staff.
Experience
- Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential.
- Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
- Previous supervisory or team management experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen operations.
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
