Health & Safety Officer
Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive, dynamic, Health and Safety Officer to join our team to work predominantly with clients in the construction sector. The successful candidate will handle client queries, perform desktop Health and Safety tasks, apply for accreditations, manage H&S Reviews and our suite of policies and method statements. A strong background in Compliance, Health and Safety or a NEBOSH qualification is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Support:
- Responding to client phone and email queries efficiently, adhering to internal SLA’s.
· Oversee our Contracted Services Process
- Liaising with our team of Health and Safety Advisors to resolve complex queries.
- Manage annual Health and Safety review meetings for CPS clients via Teams with the advisors
- Holiday support for the Office function including allocation of tasks and invoicing.
- Support with the production of our monthly briefing statements and newsletters.
Desktop Health and Safety Tasks:
- Conduct desktop Health and Safety tasks as required including the preparation and review of COSHH Assessments using our RAMS app software, creation of Home Owner Packs etc.
- Assist in the preparation and review of Health and Safety documentation for example Policies.
Accreditations:
- Apply for relevant accreditations on behalf of clients.
- Ensure all documentation meets required standards.
Document Management:
- Manage the review and update of our suite of policies and method statements in line with current HSE legislation in liaison with the H&S Auditors.
- Ensure all documents are accessible and up to date for clients and internal use.
Service Development:
- To aim to streamline the creation and distribution of all our documentation, using our suite of software products, ensuring compliance and accessibility for clients.
- Undertake other tasks as appropriate to ensure that the company’s clients receive a high level of service.
Legislation Updates:
- Keep abreast of changes to HSE legislation and ensure compliance across all client operations.
- Other general Health and Safety related activities as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A background in a Health and Safety or compliance environment.
- NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay: FTE £35,000.00 per year
Location – Home based but not too far from Northamptonshire to facilitate occasional in person meetings.
