About the role
We’re looking for a Food Safety Project Coordinator to join our Head Office team in Wadebridge.
This role would suit someone with experience in food manufacturing, production, technical, quality assurance, food safety, hospitality or food retail who is looking to use that experience in a varied office-based role.
You’ll be involved in the day-to-day coordination of our food safety inspection work, including reviewing reports, supporting clients and inspectors, managing documentation and helping to keep projects organised and on track.
It’s a practical role with plenty of variety, so we’re looking for someone who is organised, confident communicating with people and comfortable managing several things at once.
What you’ll be doing
- Reviewing food safety and quality inspection reports before they are published, making sure the information is clear, accurate and meets the required standards.
- Keeping clients, inspectors and internal teams updated on inspection activity, queries and follow-up actions.
- Supporting client enquiries and helping to manage supplier certificates, corrective action logs and other food safety and quality documentation.
- Monitoring incoming enquiries and making sure they reach the right person and are followed up promptly.
- Keeping CRM and ticketing records up to date so actions and progress are properly recorded.
- Organising inspector equipment, client risk assessments, health and safety updates and related training activity.
About you
You may already be working in food manufacturing, production, technical, quality assurance, food safety, hospitality, food retail or another food-related environment.
You’ll understand the importance of accurate records, clear communication and following actions through properly. You’ll also be comfortable working with different people, from clients and inspectors to colleagues across the business.
You’ll have strong organisational skills, practical, organised and dependable, with good attention to detail and the confidence to use your judgement when priorities change.
We’re looking for someone with
- Previous experience in a food safety, quality or technical role within food manufacturing is preferred, we would also be interested in someone with around 2 to 3 years’ experience in, hospitality management or food retail where food safety has formed part of their responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal with clients and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and good attention to detail.
- The ability to prioritise work and manage changing demands.
- A practical approach to solving problems.
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to support the wider operations team.
- Experience using CRM, ticketing or workflow systems would be helpful, although it is not essential.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office or similar software, including spreadsheets and databases.
- A good understanding of, or strong interest in, food safety, quality systems, production standards and technical compliance.
- An understanding of GDPR, client confidentiality and the importance of handling information carefully and professionally.
- A willingness to keep up to date with relevant food safety legislation, standards and industry requirements.

Full training will be provided to help you get familiar with our systems, processes and the way we work.
You’ll be joining an experienced Head Office team and working closely with the people who coordinate our food safety inspection and audit programmes across the UK.
The role covers a good mix of report review, client communication, supporting inspectors in the field, administration and day-to-day problem solving. Your food industry experience will be useful from the start, and you’ll have the opportunity to build a strong understanding of how independent food safety inspection programmes are managed.
Pay: £29,500.00 per year
