Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled class 2 day Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires the use of POD devices and a good communication manner to customers and the operations team and previous experience of pallet network deliveries is preferred but not essential.
Duties
- Operate lorries for the safe transportation of goods to various locations.
- Conduct pre-trip electronic inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
- Communicate effectively with operations staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries via an electronic POD system.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting safety on the road.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Commercial Driver or Delivery Driver is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type is required along with a valid driver CPC.
