About the Role
You'll be joining Inside Out Group as an Engineering Assistant — working within a small, friendly team on a genuinely varied mix of work. Day to day that means helping with installations, responding to faults, and getting hands-on with cameras, door access systems, barriers and gates, and general IT.
This isn't a role where you'll be thrown in at the deep end. You'll have a dedicated 1-to-1 support scheme from the start, a van stocked with the tools you need, and a team around you who are happy to share what they know.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting with installations and fault resolution across camera, access control, and IT systems
- Working alongside experienced engineers on client sites
- Building your confidence with tools and hands-on technical work over time
- Progressing toward leading small installations independently as your skills develop
What We're Looking For
- A good working knowledge of computers and a genuine interest in engineering and how things work
- Someone who likes tinkering, problem-solving, and learning on the job
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and challenging access (ladders, tight spaces, outdoor sites)
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- A positive, reliable attitude — this is a small team and the right personality matters as much as experience
No formal qualifications required, but you'll need to pass a basic health and safety test (such as the CSCS Health & Safety test) within your first 3–6 months as part of your probationary period. We'll support you through it.
