UCL’s strategy sets out clear, cross-university priorities. To turn these bold ambitions into action, we established the Strategic Change Team. You'll be working with Agile product teams or programme teams to design and develop suitable solutions and more effective ‘to-be’ service / process models to support the user community in defining their needs. Provide input into the overall project plan owned by the project manager.
Review and document the current ‘as-is’ operation of the service
Agree and document definitions of business domain terminology.
Identify reported business problems and their impacts.
Use process models to represent to stakeholders how the service operates. Models will be drawn to show different levels of detail as required.
Work with various stakeholders to establish underlying causes of business problems and / or the desired target business process model.
Support the design of future ‘to-be’ processes, models and solutions
Work closely with the project team, including solutions architects and technical leads, as well as the service users, to support design, delivery and testing phases of the project.
Analyse and review the business options and elicit agreement on a preferred option.
Document detailed to-be process models and scenarios (e.g. user stories, use cases) in line with agreed project deliverables.
Elicit, Document, Manage Business Requirements
Based on the preferred design model and agreed project approach, work with key stakeholders to define business requirements.
Ensure requirements are documented at a suitable level of detail based on project stages and objectives (from initial high level through to detail required to design a solution).
Document, publish and communicate requirements in a format suitable for dependent activities (e.g. procurement, option evaluation and gap analysis, detailed design and configuration, testing, etc.).
