Dunkleys Accountants are the leading accountancy practice in the South West and we are looking for a talented Finance Assistant to join our Finance Team.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day transactional finance activities are completed in a timely manner. In supporting the Finance Manager, you will have opportunities to develop and grow your knowledge by assisting with ad-hoc finance projects and reporting requirements.
Working collaboratively with finance team members and stakeholders within the business you will have an opportunity to ensure efficient and effective services are in place to enhance the overall operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily bank account reconciliation, ensuring accuracy of financial records. Investigate and resolve any unreconciled items.
- Review and process client invoices and credit notes, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Take ownership of credit control activities, following the firm's debt collection procedures and proactively pursuing outstanding debts via both telephone and email.
- Deal with client invoice queries, liaising with clients and colleagues to resolve issues efficiently and maintaining accurate records within Chaser.
- Liaise with external debt collection agency when required.
- Process card payments and set up and manage direct debit mandates.
- Prepare regular reports to different teams in a timely manner.
- Review and accurately process supplier invoices into Xero.
- Providing day-to-day support to the business.
- Assist with ad hoc finance duties and projects as required by the business.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with this level of position as requested by the Directors and the Finance Manager.
Experience
- Have a minimum GCSE Maths and English or equivalent grade 5.
- Either hold or be working towards or be willing to commence the AAT qualification.
- Have a minimum of 1 year’s experience working with a finance team in a professional services company.
- Have a minimum of 1 year’s experience of using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word within a working environment.
- Be resilient, possess high level attention to detail, organisation and prioritisation skills.
- Ideally, although not essential, have current experience of Xerox and IRIS.
- Be a collaborative team player and be able to work independently.
- Have exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written for liaising with clients and colleagues.

Pay: £20,655.00-£26,000.00 per year
