We have the software, the AI models, the app, and the suppliers ready. Now we need the hands-on talent to bring Immie to life physically and get them into the hands of waiting customers.
The Role We are looking for a sharp, hands-on tinkerer to manage our "micro-factory" in Brighton. This is the ultimate operational role for a hardware enthusiast. You are the final, crucial step: assembling the components, ensuring the AI is working perfectly in the real world, packing them up, and managing fulfillment.
If you are the type of person who loves taking things apart, building custom PCs, fixing electronics, or messing around with tech, this is your dream job. The assembly process is like tech Lego—straightforward but requires care and precision.
Responsibilities (What you will do)
- Assembling Immie (The "Lego" Phase): You will physically assemble the Immie core, combining units, custom audio hats, and battery components. It's precise, logical work that takes about 10 minutes per bear.
- Software Loading & Testing (Bringing her to life): You will flash the software, integrate the hardware with our proprietary AI model and mobile app, and perform live voice-to-voice testing.
- Quality Control & Troubleshooting: Every Immie must be perfect. If a bear doesn't work, you must diagnose the fault (is it hardware, software config, or a faulty component?) and fix it.
- Returns Management: You will be responsible for handling technical returns, diagnosing faults, and repairing/re-integrating units back into the line.
- Fulfillment & Operations: You will pack the tested Immies into their boxes with manual guides, generate shipping labels, and manage daily dispatch (walking batches to the local drop-off point).
- Inventory Tracking: Keep a careful watch on component stock levels (hardware, plush bears, boxes) and report to management when supplies need reordering.
Requirements (Who you are)
- Hands-on Tech Tinkerer: You don't need formal engineering qualifications, but you must be comfortable handling delicate tech. If you build your own custom PCs, repair phones/consoles, work in IT support, or play with Raspberry Pi/Arduinos, you have the right skills.
- Basic Electronics Knowledge: You should understand basic wiring, connectors, and power management (soldering skills are a bonus, but not required).
- The Problem-Solver Mindset: When something doesn't work, you don't panic. You methodically track down the fault.
- Highly Organized: Managing 1,000 units, components, and shipping labels requires meticulous organization.
- Local to Brighton: You must be able to work daily from our Brighton location.
- Start-up Hustle: We are in a pre-launch phase. We need a self-starter who doesn't need constant supervision and wants to make an impact.
