Red Rhino Crushers (UK) Ltd is a leading British manufacturer of compact mobile crushing and screening equipment. Designed and built in Grantham, our machines are used across the UK and exported worldwide to customers in the construction, demolition, recycling and hire industries.
As demand for our machines continues to grow, we are looking for an Experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our production team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-quality machinery in a modern manufacturing environment, assembling industry-leading equipment from the ground up.
The Role
You will be responsible for the mechanical assembly, fitting and testing of our compact crushers and screening equipment, ensuring every machine leaves our factory to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical assembly of crushers and screening equipment.
- Installation of hydraulic systems, pipework, pumps, valves and cylinders.
- Fitting engines, gearboxes, conveyors and associated components.
- Reading and working from engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
- Conducting functional testing and fault finding.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality.
- Working closely with fabrication, electrical and production teams.
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean , tidy, and safe work area at all times
- Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Plant Fitter or Machinery Assembly Fitter.
- Experience assembling heavy machinery, agricultural equipment, construction equipment or similar products.
- Good knowledge of hydraulics and mechanical systems.
- The ability to read engineering drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
- A proactive attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Hydraulic diagnostics and fault finding.
- Electrical installation or fault finding.
- Mobile plant, agricultural machinery or heavy equipment assembly.
- Engine installation and commissioning.
- Forklift or overhead crane experience.
