About Carrick+Stone

We are looking for a confident, personable Host who takes pride in creating memorable guest experiences. This is a hands-on front-of-house role covering the complete guest journey, from the initial welcome through to drinks preparation, food service, table service and departure.
The Role
As a Host, you will welcome guests, take accurate orders, prepare and serve drinks, serve food and provide attentive table service throughout each visit.
You will take personal ownership of the guest experience, work closely with the wider team and help maintain the high standards, attention to detail and relaxed professionalism that define Carrick+Stone.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and create an excellent first impression.
- Help guests settle into the venue and feel genuinely looked after.
- Take accurate food and drink orders.
- Answer questions and make informed recommendations based on each guest’s preferences.
- Prepare and present wines, spirits, cocktails, draught products, bottled drinks, soft drinks and hot beverages.
- Serve food and drinks promptly and professionally.
- Deliver attentive, well-paced table service without being intrusive.
- Check in with guests appropriately and anticipate their needs.
- Take ownership of the guest journey from arrival through to departure.
- Process bills and payments accurately.
- Identify appropriate opportunities to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Prepare tables and service areas before and during service.
- Restock glassware, drinks and other service items.
- Complete opening, closing, cleaning and side duties reliably.
- Maintain a clean, organised and guest-ready environment.
- Respond constructively to guest concerns using our approach: Listen. Care. Fix. Follow up.
- Follow licensing, Challenge 25, responsible alcohol retailing, food hygiene, allergen, health and safety, fire safety and venue security procedures.
- Support colleagues during busy periods and contribute positively to the wider team.
What We’re Looking ForEssential
- Warm, confident and professional communication.
- A genuine interest in looking after people and delivering excellent hospitality.
- Strong attention to detail and personal presentation.
- The ability to take accurate orders and provide attentive table service.
- The ability to prepare and serve drinks consistently, or the willingness and aptitude to learn.
- A calm, organised and guest-focused approach during busy periods.
- Previous customer service experience in hospitality, retail or another guest-facing environment.
- A positive team attitude.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, public holidays and events.
- Relevant alcohol licensing training, or willingness to complete the required training.
Desirable
- Previous bar, restaurant, hotel or premium table-service experience.
- Experience using an electronic point-of-sale system and handling customer payments.
- Food hygiene or allergen training.
- Wine, whisky, cocktail or other relevant hospitality training.

Working Pattern
The role will include a mixture of daytime, evening, weekend, public holiday and event shifts in line with the needs of the business. Applicants should therefore have suitable flexibility.
