SQR Group is a growing and professional organisation committed to delivering exceptional service to our clients. We are seeking an organised and proactive Accounts Administrator to join our Accounts Department, with a primary focus on Credit Control.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional who enjoys building positive client relationships, ensuring timely payments, and supporting the smooth running of a busy finance department.
As part of a small and supportive team, you will specialise in Credit Control whilst also developing knowledge across bookkeeping, invoicing, quotations and payroll to provide support and cover when required.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Control
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices.
- Contact clients by telephone and email regarding outstanding balances.
- Issue statements, payment reminders and overdue notices.
- Investigate and resolve payment queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of all credit control activity.
- Produce aged debt reports and highlight concerns to management.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients while protecting the company's cash flow.
Accounts Administration
- Assist with the processing of sales invoices and customer account records.
- Support bookkeeping activities as required.
- Assist with account reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
- Support other members of the Accounts Department during busy periods.
Systems & Compliance
- Work confidently with Xero and Sage accounting systems.
- Ensure all records are maintained accurately and confidentially.
- Comply with company policies, procedures and financial controls.
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the department.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience in Credit Control, Accounts Administration or a similar finance role.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Confident telephone manner with the ability to manage sensitive conversations professionally.
- Experience using Xero and/or Sage.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience within a service-based industry.
- Understanding of payroll processes.
- Experience of bookkeeping and invoicing.
- AAT qualification or working towards an accounting qualification.

Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
