Job Advert
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. We work with a wide range of volunteers who bring different skills, experiences and perspectives, and we welcome expressions of interest for both current and future opportunities.
This opportunity is open to UK-based volunteers only.
Our volunteers typically support us across three broad areas. You do not need experience in all of these, interest in one area is absolutely fine.
1. Support
We host Long Covid support groups and maintain an active presence across several social media platforms. Volunteers in this area help to run in-person and virtual sessions, including Zoom chats, Men’s Support, Carers’ Support, the Long Covid Choir, chair yoga and opera breathing. This role is well suited to people who enjoy supporting others, facilitating discussions and helping create inclusive, safe spaces.
2. Influencing
We work to influence decision-makers on key issues affecting people with Long Covid, including healthcare and services, employment and benefits. We also act as secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Long Covid and have contributed as a core witness to several modules of the UK Covid Inquiry. Volunteers support this work by helping to draft briefings and reports, attending meetings with decision-makers and assisting with wider influencing activity.
3. Research
Research volunteers help identify and collate relevant papers and articles, raise awareness of current studies and share evidence with our wider community. Some volunteers act as Research Advisers and receive training in Patient and Public Involvement, supporting researchers with study design, patient recruitment and desk-based reviews.
Other skills and experience
We recognise that people may have skills or experience that do not fit neatly into the areas above. We are also keen to hear from volunteers with experience in other areas such as communications, digital and social media, administration, governance, data, fundraising, events, project support or professional expertise gained through work or lived experience. If you have skills you think could benefit our work, we would very much like to hear from you.
Why volunteer with us?
Make a meaningful contribution to improving understanding and support for people with Long Covid
Use existing skills or develop new ones in a supportive environment
Help shape policy, research and community support

If you are interested in volunteering now or in the future, please complete the expression of interest form so we can learn more about you and keep in touch as opportunities arise.
