Before & After School Club Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and experienced Before & After School Club Manager to lead our busy wraparound childcare provision for children aged 4–11 years.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the club, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment where children can relax, play, learn, and thrive before and after the school day.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate childcare professional who enjoys working with children and leading a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the before and after school club.
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of childcare staff.
- Plan and deliver engaging activities suitable for children aged 4–11 years.
- Ensure the safety, welfare, and safeguarding of all children at all times.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and school staff.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and relevant documentation.
- Manage staffing rotas and oversee staff performance and development.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements, safeguarding policies, and health and safety regulations.
- Monitor resources, equipment, and club budgets where required.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
RequirementsEssential
- Experience working with children aged 4–11 years in a childcare, school, or playwork setting.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to lead a team effectively and inspire positive outcomes for children.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Desirable
- Relevant childcare qualification (Level 3 or above).
- Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and standards.
- Experience managing staff, rotas, and budgets.
- Food Hygiene certification.
