Newtown Garage is an established independent garage based in Chesham. We have worked closely with HMC since 2003, carrying out vehicle preparation, inspections, servicing, MOT work and repairs.
HMC has been trading since 2002 and currently has over 135 vehicles available, giving our workshop a steady flow of vehicles, varied work and long-term stability.
Due to continued demand, we are looking for an experienced Vehicle Mechanic / Vehicle Technician to join our team.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled mechanic who wants steady work, good earning potential and a long-term position in a busy workshop.
The Role
Day-to-day work will include:
- Vehicle inspections and preparation work
- Servicing and general mechanical repairs
- MOT repairs and pre-MOT work
- Diagnostics and fault finding
- Suspension, brakes, steering and general repair work
- Regular Land Rover Discovery 4 and Discovery 5 work
- Preparing HMC vehicles to a high standard before sale
- Working as part of a busy, practical workshop team

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic, motor mechanic or vehicle technician
- Strong mechanical knowledge and fault-finding ability
- Experience with servicing, inspections and mechanical repairs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail
- A reliable and professional attitude
- Own tools preferred
- MOT tester status is useful but not essential
- Land Rover / 4x4 experience is useful but not essential

Bonus Terms
The £1,000 joining bonus is payable after 3 months, subject to attendance, performance and continued employment.
The £1,000 referral reward is payable after the referred mechanic joins and completes 3 months, subject to terms.
Salary depends on experience, skill level and agreed working arrangement. Full details confirmed during application.
Pay: £35,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
