About the Role
Qualified Electrical Technician needed to deliver critical on-site planned maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns across our South East region. You will service, fault find and repair high voltage and low voltage electrical equipment. If you have experience in industrial electrical maintenance such as power generation, manufacturing, utilities distribution, or steel, this a fantastic opportunity to work in the renewable energy sector.
Location: This role will primarily serve sites in the South East Region, covering Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace faulty components, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Programme and modify programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimise system performance.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics to support installation and repair activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure electrical systems meet operational requirements.
- Assist in the installation of new electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing technical issues promptly and professionally.
What you will bring
- Electrical engineering technical qualification essential (BTEC ONC/HNC, NVQ level 3 or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of electrical generators desired but not essential
- Working knowledge of BS7671, 18th edition Electrical Installation Regulations and associated legislative standards
- Knowledge and experience of fault finding and working from electrical drawings
- Knowledge and experience of Operating High voltage Switchgear
- Flexible approach to work – willing to travel regularly and put in extra hours when needed
- Full UK driving licence
- Confident using laptop, mobile and technical programs & applications
