About the Role
Musgrove Willows has been growing willow in Somerset for almost 100 years and has become one of the UK's leading manufacturers of handcrafted willow coffins.
We are looking for a Finishing & Lining Assistant to join our skilled workshop team. This is an important role where quality, care and attention to detail matter every day.
Every coffin is individually handcrafted on our farm using willow that is grown, sorted and woven on site. Before leaving our workshop, each coffin is carefully finished, lined, inspected and prepared for dispatch. Your work will ensure every product reaches a funeral director exactly as intended and reflects the high standards our customers expect.
This role would suit someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing things properly, and understands that even the smallest details make a difference.
What You'll Be Doing
- Fitting and finishing coffin linings to a consistently high standard.
- Carrying out quality checks before dispatch.
- Preparing, packaging and labelling finished coffins.
- Checking customer orders and ensuring all specifications are correct.
- Working with the weaving and dispatch teams to meet production deadlines.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Helping uphold the high standards that Musgrove Willows is known for.
We're Looking For Someone Who Is
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable carrying out manual work throughout the day.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
- Calm under pressure and able to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Proud of producing work to a high standard.
Previous experience in manufacturing, production, upholstery, sewing, furniture finishing, packaging or quality control would be beneficial, but full training will be provided for the right person.
Working Hours
- Full-time, permanent position.
- 40 hours per week.
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
- Some flexibility may be available for the right candidate.
