Commercial Electrician (Sub-Contractor) — Cinema Fit-Out, Sloane Square SW1

About the role
An established commercial electrical contractor is looking for a fully qualified, experienced commercial electrician to join us on a sub-contract basis for a cinema fit-out in Sloane Square. It's a high-spec project in a busy central London location, working to tight programme dates alongside other trades. Small, well-run team with materials and plant on site.
What you'll be doing
- First and second fix across auditoria, foyer, bar, plant rooms and back-of-house
- Installing containment — tray, basket, trunking and conduit — including work at height
- Running and terminating SWA, FP, T&E and control cabling
- Three-phase distribution boards, sub-mains and final circuits
- Auditorium and architectural lighting, DALI/DMX dimming and lighting control
- Emergency and escape lighting to BS 5266
- Power and containment for projection, AV, sound and IT equipment
- Terminating, testing and assisting with commissioning and handover documentation
- Working from drawings and specification, keeping your area safe, tidy and to programme
What you'll need
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or City & Guilds equivalent plus AM2)
- 18th Edition (BS 7671), current amendment
- Valid ECS Gold Card — JIB Approved Electrician
- Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience
- Proven commercial fit-out experience (leisure, retail, hospitality or similar)
- Confident working from drawings without close supervision
- Own hand tools
- UTR number and CIS registration
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- City & Guilds 2391 inspection and testing
- IPAF and/or PASMA
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- Previous cinema, theatre or AV-heavy project experience
Terms
- £250 per day under CIS, paid weekly. The rate is negotiable for the right level of experience.
- Six weeks on this project, with further work available on our other sites for the right candidate.
Getting to site
Sloane Square Underground (District and Circle lines) is a five-minute walk. There is no site parking, and the site sits inside the Congestion Charge and ULEZ zones — please factor that in if you plan to drive.
