About the Role
This exciting role leads on the statistical data analysis of graduate access and widening participation (WP) initiatives introduced at Oxford in recent years to improve the diversity of the graduate student population. The University has also recently recruited an Evaluation Manager with responsibility for graduate access and WP, as well as four posts specialising in graduate access and WP with responsibility for each of the four academic divisions. The senior statistical analyst will work very closely with post-holders in these roles and other existing posts with graduate access and WP responsibilities to support the delivery and on-going review of the University’s first Graduate Access Recruitment Strategy.
About You
- You are a talented statistical analyst looking to bring your advanced analytical skills to help improve the effectiveness of graduate access and widening participation schemes within the University of Oxford.
- You have extensive experience of one or more statistical packages (e.g. SPSS, R, Python), and excellent understanding of common and advanced statistical methods (including regression modelling).
- You have proven experience of managing large-scale data related projects with the ability to produce detailed and accurate work, to tight deadlines with excellent time management.
- You have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with staff across the university, including at a senior level.
- You have strong stakeholder engagement skills, showing a customer-focused approach to delivery
- You have an awareness of the issues relating to the provision and analysis of outreach and applicant data, especially in relation to data protection, quality assurance and enhancement and sensitivities around special category data.
- You are equally comfortable working independently or collaboratively across a team.
