About the role:
Justteachers are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Pastoral Support Mentor to join a welcoming SEMH school in Fakenham from September 2026. This full‑time, long‑term supply role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s emotional, social, and behavioural development.
As a Pastoral Support Mentor, you will play a vital part in helping pupils feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 emotional support for pupils with additional pastoral needs
- Running small‑group wellbeing sessions focused on confidence, resilience, and social skills
- Supporting behaviour strategies and restorative approaches
- Building positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff
- Helping create a nurturing, inclusive school environment
- Liaising with external agencies when required
Pre-requisites:
- Experience working with children or young people in a pastoral, mentoring, or support role
- Two education or school based references
- Must have clear enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and families
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
