Driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
This role is to support people within their own homes, delivering and supporting a variety of care needs on an individual basis in Plymouth.
If you are new to the sector and are looking to have a career as a carer and have a full driving licence, then we can support you to take those steps and give you a rewarding career. We also accept apprentices for those aged 17-18 with a driving licence.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment
- Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems and ensure documentation is up-to-date
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Drive to client homes, ensuring timely arrival and departure
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery
- Uphold health and safety standards in all aspects of work
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and ability to drive between client residences
- Previous experience working in a care environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Good command of English, both spoken and written, for effective communication
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support others’ wellbeing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced environment
