Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will specialise in preparing authentic sushi and Japanese cuisine, ensuring high standards of quality, presentation, and food safety. Duties
- Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and other Japanese delicacies with precision and artistry.
- Ensure all food preparation adheres to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the sushi station in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Monitor ingredients stock levels and communicate needs for replenishment to management.
- Assist in meal preparation for the entire kitchen team as required.
- Uphold high standards of hygiene and food safety throughout all stages of food handling.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Contribute to maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere within the restaurant.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, particularly specialising in sushi or Japanese cuisine.
- Strong cooking skills with a focus on precision and presentation.
- Previous kitchen experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
