Role: Electrical Engineer (Day)
Location: Kings Cross
Hours: 08:00 - 17:00
Role Overview
Working as part of the engineering maintenance team, the Electrical Engineer provides comprehensive electrical and building services support across site. The role requires strong knowledge of building services systems, confident delivery of both planned and reactive tasks, and strict compliance with Health & Safety and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Maintenance
- Issue Permits to Work as part of the safe system of work.
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks to schedule and standard.
- Identify required materials and submit internal materials request forms in good time.
- Maintain clear shift handovers covering critical plant status, isolations, ongoing works, issues and housekeeping.
- Complete all shift logs and documentation accurately and on time.
- Perform statutory inspections, including accurate recording of annual distribution board inspections.
- Manage and monitor third‑party contractors, including standards of work and internal audits where required.
- Maintain and repair AC/DC single‑ and three‑phase motors.
- Maintain UPS systems, batteries, static switches and associated controls.
- Test and maintain emergency lighting systems.
- Operate and maintain low‑voltage switch panels and breakers.
- Maintain and troubleshoot lighting control systems.
Qualifications
Essential
- GCSEs (or equivalent).
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices; strong organisational/admin skills.
- 17th/18th Edition Wiring & Installation.
- City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent).
Desirable
- City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent.
