The Bar Manager role is guaranteed to be challenging and rewarding each and every day... With so many moving parts to the venue, from daytime food, terrace service, late night events, large corporate parties to Christmas bookings. The venue has it all and is a great place for a Bar Manager who is wanting to progress and develop their career in the industry.
As a Bar Manager, you will need to be able to demonstrate passion and energy as you lead and train the bar team and event staff. The role of the venues Bar Manager will be to support the AGM and GM in all daily duties.
Your Main Responsibilities will include;
· Conduct appraisals and produce training and development plans for the bar supervisors and bar team.
· Assist the AGM and GM in mentoring and coaching team members
· In the Absence of the AGM and GM, be able to manage the venue and its team and report back any issues and developments as appropriate.
· Lead by Example to ensure that the highest possible levels of Customer Service are delivered by the bar team at all times.
· Collate weekly Bar rotas, be able to flex rotas depending on forecasted trade and deliver these rotas back to the AGM and GM for sign off.
· Conduct weekly tests for staff to ensure their steps of service and spec tests are up-to date and complete.
· Ensure Weekly Stock takes are being submitted, reviewed and signed off. Liaising with the General Manager and Head office should there be any issues and ensuring that measures are taken to prevent further issues.
· Ensure Bar Audits and Line Cleans are being carried out weekly.
· Ensure supervisors and bar staff are keeping stock rotated, deliveries and transfers are entered into Zonal (BOH EPOS), All bar and cellar equipment is in working order.
· Ensure all pricing across tills is correct, any till faults are recorded and reported and then follow up to ensure their rectified.
· Attend Sales and Marketing meeting weekly, bringing new ideas to the table and join in on the brain storming sessions about ways in which the business can be improved.
· To hold a good range of Cocktail Knowledge and be able to develop bespoke cocktails for one of events.
· Be able to build good relationships with brand reps and ensure the venue is meeting all contractual needs they may have.
· Arrange launch events and cocktail competitions with brand reps.
· Devise and cost a cocktail and bar menu.
· Control stock holdings to within company threshold.
· Control over weekly internal stocktakes
