Part-Time Seasonal Kennel Assistant
2–3 days per week | Includes weekends, holidays & peak periods . The length of employment performance dependent.
We are seeking a reliable, physically fit Kennel Assistant with proven animal care experience or a Level 3 Animal Management qualification. You must be confident handling large and multiple dogs in a busy, nervous and rescue dogs.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Animal Management or 12+ months kennel/animal care experience
- Confident handling large/multiple dogs
- Full driving licence (rural location)
- Strong communication & customer service skills
- Able to multitask, work under pressure & make decisions
- With Good memory .
- Reliable, punctual, team-focused and responsible
- Basic admin skills (bookings & payments)
- This role involves working closely with various breeds, ability to handle larger breeds, providing them with a safe and clean environment. You will be responsible for daily care tasks, including feeding, exercising, cleaning, and monitoring the health of the dogs. Your passion for dogs and strong customer service skills is vital for this position.
You have to be a team player with good communication skills to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Suitable for people Studing animal management or canine behavior or graduates.
Flexible to work 2-3 days a week during off peak times and 3-4 days a week during summer, holidays and half terms.
Candidate has to be hard working, reliable, friendly, polite, responsible, punctual ,with great communication skills. Must have good time management skills, being able to handle payments and place bookings.
Essential skills: multi tasking, critical thinking, ability to work under pressure , making decisions independently ,good memory ,must have great communication skills , working with customers face to face and over the phone, physically fit and being able to handle large dogs and multiple dogs at the same time.
3 days training on volunteer basis required, 3 months trial period there after.
Due to our kennels rural location, it will be essential if candidate can drive.
Duties
- Feeding, exercising, cleaning and general dog care
- Monitoring welfare and reporting concerns
- Maintaining a safe, clean kennel environment
- Customer service, bookings and payments

- Animal Management / Canine Behaviour students or graduates
- Canine First Aid
Requires 3-days training on volunteer basis and 3-month trial period. Strong performance may change this permanent employment.
