We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) who can take ownership of the commercial performance of our construction projects. You won't simply measure costs—you will drive commercial strategy, protect project profitability, and provide expert guidance that supports successful project delivery. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, clients, consultants, and subcontractors, ensuring every commercial decision adds value while maintaining the highest professional standards.
Why Work With Us?

Commercial Influence: Your recommendations will directly impact project profitability, procurement strategies, and long-term business success. You'll be trusted to make informed commercial decisions from the very beginning.
Professional Development: We encourage continuous learning and support your professional growth through exposure to complex projects, industry best practices, and opportunities to develop your leadership skills.
Collaborative Culture: Join a team of experienced construction professionals who value integrity, teamwork, open communication, and practical problem-solving. Your expertise will be respected, and your contributions will make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Management: Lead the commercial and contractual management of multiple construction projects while ensuring budgets, forecasts, and financial objectives are achieved.
Cost Planning & Control: Prepare detailed cost estimates, monitor project expenditures, manage budgets, and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
Contract Administration: Manage NEC, JCT, and other construction contracts, including valuations, variations, claims, final accounts, and contractual compliance.
Procurement: Prepare tender documentation, evaluate subcontractor quotations, negotiate commercial terms, and manage subcontractor accounts.
Financial Reporting: Produce accurate monthly cost reports, commercial forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial performance updates for senior management.
Risk Management: Identify commercial risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and provide practical commercial advice to protect project outcomes.
Client & Stakeholder Relationships: Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams while maintaining excellent communication throughout each project.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience: At least 5+ years of Quantity Surveying experience, including significant experience managing the commercial aspects of construction projects. Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor is highly desirable.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, cost management, procurement, contract administration, construction estimating, and commercial reporting.
Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of NEC and JCT contracts, construction legislation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
Communication Skills: Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the confidence to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary project teams.
Qualifications: Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Professional membership (such as RICS or working toward chartership) is advantageous.
Mindset: You are commercially driven, detail-oriented, and proactive. You balance strategic thinking with practical decision-making, solve problems confidently, and take pride in delivering successful projects through sound commercial management.
