Objectives and Responsibilities
This is an exciting opportunity to join Mitie Intelligence Services (MIS) as part of the Intelligence Hub, in a new role within the rapidly evolving and growing team. This role will be focused on delivering a portfolio of intelligence services for a leading multinational organisation in the financial sector, working alongside the senior client and a range of key internal and external stakeholders.
The Intelligence Hub's remit is to provide an open-source intelligence (OSINT) capability to Mitie's client. The Intelligence Hub is responsible for the identification of potential threats to our client's employees and business operations and the delivery of timely, actionable threat intelligence for the purpose of informing and facilitating our clients' decision-making process so identified threats can be mitigated. The Intelligence Hub also provides major incident communications support in response to a significant incident and bespoke, digital investigation services in response to unique and individual security requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a security intelligence-related environment, either within law enforcement, military, government, or the private sector. You will be a confident and assertive decision-maker with the ability to work in a highly dynamic, agile environment, with excellent judgement and written communication skills. Hands-on and driven, you will inspire others with your passion to provide excellent threat reporting to assist client security decision-making and improve business resilience. Comprehensive understanding of UK and global security issues and their associated risks to business is key.
Key Accountabilities and Role Overview
- Working with the senior client, account manager, Intelligence Hub, and other internal and external stakeholders to create and deliver a range of intelligence products and service lines relevant to customer security concerns for the UK, EMEA and APAC regions.
- Responsible for the creation of a high-quality predictive intelligence and horizon scanning capability which will deliver relevant and concise intelligence reports and briefings, covering threats to physical security such as terrorism, crime, and activism. This will include the production of thematic intelligence reports and intelligence products focused on threats to people, assets, and events.
- Conduct ongoing geopolitical and security threat analysis for countries and cities across EMEA and APAC, with a focus on implications for the client's operations and staff.
- Support horizon scanning and predictive intelligence activities to identify, assess, and report on developing risks and trends across the regions.
- Deliver intelligence briefings, risk assessments, and analytical products to senior stakeholders, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and relevance.
- Provide support for travel risk management efforts, including the assessment of travel security risks, pre-trip advisories, and real-time monitoring of incidents affecting employee travel.
- Contribute to incident response efforts, including the assessment and communication of threat information during crises or emerging events.
- Monitor open-source intelligence (OSINT), government alerts, and vendor reports to maintain a robust understanding of the threat landscape.
- Maintain intelligence tools, databases, and workflows to ensure effective information collection and dissemination.
- Support Executive Protection and personal security efforts through analysis of potential threat actors/groups and analysis of publicly available information of Principal's profile.
- Attending customer meetings as required to brief the strategic intelligence picture, as well as building customer relationships with various internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
- This role does not currently involve line management responsibilities but given the expected high calibre and experience of the successful applicant, they are expected to act as a mentor and coach to junior employees within a wider SOC environment.
Key Skills and Experience
- Degree-educated, or an equivalent qualification, in a relevant subject matter area.
- At least three years previous experience of working within a threat intelligence environment, such as within the military, government, law enforcement, or security sectors.
- Highly skilled in building relationships with customers and partners.
- Ability to formulate logical and measured assessments of risk/threat based on information available while understanding the intelligence requirements of customers.
- Demonstrable experience in processing and analysing both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and fluency in both spoken and written English.
- Reliable, flexible, and discrete.
- Demonstrable knowledge of UK and global events and their security impacts.
- Experience in interrogating and exploiting social media platforms as a source of threat intelligence.
