Duties
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of workstations in accordance with food safety standards.
- Prepare ingredients, garnishes, and accompaniments as required for daily service.
- Follow recipes accurately and adhere to portion control guidelines.
- Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and storage of ingredients.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times during food production and service.
- Support the supervising team in managing kitchen operations during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
- Basic culinary skills including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Experience in food production, restaurant service, or catering is advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities or supervising experience is a plus.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
