Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team in providing high-quality care and support to children in a residential setting. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive, develop essential life skills, and reach their full potential. Your energy, communication skills, and commitment to child welfare will help foster positive relationships and promote well-being for the young people in your care.
Responsibilities
- Support children with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational pursuits
- Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs and goals
- Foster a safe, respectful, and supportive environment that encourages positive behavior and emotional growth
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with colleagues, families, and external professionals involved in the child's care
- Assist with transportation needs by driving children to appointments, activities, or school when required
- Monitor and record progress, incidents, and relevant observations accurately using IT systems
- Promote social inclusion by encouraging participation in community activities and skill-building exercises
- Ensuring to help the children with their emotional, physical and developmental needs.
- Display yourself as an appropriate role model.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, empathy and resilience.
- Encourage positive life experiences for the children.

Skills and Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a childcare or support setting is required
- Understanding of safeguarding
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members
- Knowledge of child development principles and experience creating or following care plans
- Proficiency in IT for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes
- Compassionate attitude with patience and resilience to handle challenging situations effectively
- Experience in working under an Ofsted regulated setting
Shift Times Available
- Early 07:30 - 15:30
- Late 14:30 - 22:30
- Night 22:30 - 07:30
Salary
- Non applicable NVQ £14 per hour (you must then undertake the NVQ course provided by us once employed)
- Applicable NVQ held £15 per hour
- Night shift uplift £1 per hour on top of base hourly pay
Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour
