Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate, organised, and motivated Assistant Manager to support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will help oversee the day-to-day running of the service, ensure compliance with care standards, and provide leadership and support to the care team.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent organisational skills, and a proven track record in management. This role involves supervising staff, and ensuring excellent care standards are maintained.
Duties
- All compliance work at Yardley Hastings– SDP/Accident Incidents/PEEPS/Body Maps/Nutritional profiles/COSHH/SAO’s/Contingency plans.
- Spot check of care plans, Yardley Hastings only.
- Support with assessments for new packages, set up initial care plan.
- Complete all annual reviews.
- Book specialist training including PEG feeding.
- Ensure rota is covered.
- Monitor, manage and support the deputy
- Formal supervisions and annual appraisals of staff (split with RM) Staff discussions are completed in a timely manner and are fed into the supervisions
- Support with all staff meetings.
- Support with interviews and inductions.
- Monitor that all medication is appropriate and administered effectively, efficiently whilst addressing any issues or gaps identified.
- In-put outcome star information – from meaningful activities/goals set.
- Submit any CQC/Safeguarding notifications (in consultation with the RM)
- Ensure that allocations are completed correctly and any additional appointments are covered.
- Review Individual folders (3monthly) and ensure they are complete and up to date.
- Spot check the standard and regularity of care notes, care plans and daily records improving standards if required.
- Have an oversight of building safety and maintenance making sure needs urgent and otherwise are reported to the maintenance team and addressed in a timely manner.
- Communicate regularly with the management team using the agreed communication route.
- You are part of a (paid) on-call rota, and are prepared to cover for annual leave, sickness and absence. (Usual pattern 1 in 4).
- You support with the new DOLS legislation– if required.
- Take full charge of the service in the absence of the Registered Manager.
- Build positive relationships with the people we support, families, health professionals and local authorities.

Pay: £18.50 per hour
