Overview
We are seeking a skilled Machinist/Manufacturing Operator to join our production team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with manufacturing experience who are committed to producing high-quality products within a regulated medical device environment. The role offers flexible working hours, with the opportunity for additional hours as the business continues to grow.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced lock stitch machinist and have experience operating machinery, assembling components, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Duties
- Operate sewing machines and manufacturing equipment used in the production of medical equipment.
- Assemble products and associated components in accordance with production specifications and work instructions.
- Perform visual and functional inspections to ensure products meet quality and performance requirements.
- Identify and report defects, equipment issues, or non-conforming products.
- Carry out machine set-up, adjustments, and basic preventative maintenance activities.
- Utilise hand tools and production equipment safely and effectively.
- Accurately complete production records, quality documentation, and traceability requirements.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality management system requirements.
- Support continuous improvement activities to enhance product quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and medical device manufacturing requirements.
Requirements
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience operating machinery and production equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing procedures.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements, production records, and quality checks.
- Ability to identify defects and perform quality inspections.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pay: £13.50-£14.00 per hour
