A warehouse job where strong performance is recognised
Crescent Pharma is recruiting Warehouse Order Pickers for our Sheffield National Distribution Centre.
We are building a high-performing warehouse team and want people who are productive, accurate, reliable and take pride in doing a job properly.
In return, we offer a strong basic rate of £14.50 per hour, guaranteed 40-hour working weeks, permanent weekday employment, clear opportunities to progress and an up to £100 Monthly Performance Incentive specifically designed to recognise our top-performing pickers.
This is a dedicated order-picking role. Your primary responsibility will be picking customer orders accurately and efficiently. You will work to clear, published performance standards, so you know what is expected and how your performance is measured.
Our Sheffield operation supports the supply of medicines to pharmacies, hospitals and healthcare customers across the UK. Accuracy, traceability and reliability therefore matter just as much as speed.
The role
You will be responsible for:
- Picking pharmaceutical products accurately against system-generated instructions.
- Selecting the correct product, quantity and location.
- Using handheld scanners, warehouse systems and picking documentation.
- Completing picking and system transactions correctly.
- Presenting completed orders for independent checking and despatch.
- Reporting stock shortages, damaged products and location discrepancies immediately.
- Maintaining product quality and traceability.
- Following warehouse, health & safety and operating procedures.
- Keeping your working area clean, safe and organised.
- Maintaining consistent and productive activity throughout your shift.
Clear performance standards
Once fully trained and signed off as competent, your core standards will include:
Picking Productivity – minimum order lines picked per day
Completed picking activity will be measured using warehouse system data.
Right First Time Accuracy – minimum accuracy levels
We expect people to work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy.
Performance will be reviewed regularly against objective system and attendance data.
Up to £100 Monthly Performance Incentive – rewarding our top performers
Meeting the minimum standards is an expectation of the role. The Monthly Performance Incentive is additional recognition for employees who perform at the highest level. Each month, eligible pickers will be assessed against objective performance measures including:
- Picking productivity
- Right First Time accuracy
- Consistency of working activity
- Safety and procedure compliance
The strongest qualifying performers can receive a £100 Monthly Performance Incentive.
This is a performance incentive rather than an automatic or guaranteed monthly payment. Simply achieving the minimum standards does not automatically qualify an employee for the award.
The purpose is straightforward: people who consistently deliver exceptional productivity, accuracy, reliability and professionalism should have their contribution recognised.
A top performer receiving the incentive every month would earn an additional £1,200 per year, taking total annual earnings up to approximately £31,360.
Full eligibility, ranking and award rules will be provided to employees.

Who we are looking for
We particularly want applicants with:
- Recent warehouse picking, fulfilment or similar target-driven experience.
- Experience working against measurable productivity and accuracy targets.
- A strong attendance and punctuality record.
- Excellent attention to detail, product codes, quantities and instructions.
- The ability to work quickly without becoming careless.
- Experience using handheld scanners or warehouse systems.
- Good basic literacy and numeracy.
- The ability to remain productive without continuous supervision.
- A responsible attitude when mistakes or problems occur.
- An interest in stable, long-term employment and progression.
Previous pharmaceutical or regulated warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential.
Is this the right environment for you?
This is a performance-led warehouse operation.
If you enjoy targets, take pride in outperforming expectations and want strong performance to be visible and recognised, this could be an excellent opportunity.
The position is less likely to suit someone who does not want their performance measured, struggles with attendance or punctuality, requires continuous supervision to remain productive, or prioritises speed over accuracy.
We provide training, clear expectations and appropriate support. In return, we expect a professional attitude and consistent performance.
Recruitment process
Shortlisted applicants should expect:
- CV/application review
- Initial screening
- Site-based interview
- Short practical accuracy, numeracy and/or picking assessment
- Right-to-work and pre-employment checks
Successful applicants will receive structured training before being expected to achieve the full productivity standard.
If you are an experienced and reliable warehouse picker who believes strong performance should be recognised, we would like to hear from you.
Please apply with an up-to-date CV demonstrating your relevant warehouse experience.
Direct applicants only. No recruitment agency submissions.
