Jewellery Store - Ecommerce and Retail Assistant
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ecommerce & Retail Assistant to join our small, friendly jewellery company on a full-time basis.
We are currently seeking someone for an initial 6-month period, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who is confident, hardworking and creative. We’re looking for a motivated individual who can manage and prioritise their workload while becoming an important part of our small team.
As part of our friendly small team, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of our jewellery shop. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing warm, knowledgeable and attentive customer service, helping customers find the right products and creating a welcoming shopping experience
- Serving customers in-store, processing purchases and handling payments accurately
- Answering telephone enquiries and assisting customers with product, order and general queries
- Processing and fulfilling online orders, including carefully picking, checking, packaging and dispatching jewellery orders
- Responding to customer emails promptly and professionally, providing helpful information and resolving queries where possible
- Preparing jewellery orders for delivery, ensuring items are packaged carefully and presented to a high standard
- Receiving, checking and organising stock, and helping to maintain accurate stock levels
- Keeping the shop, displays and work areas clean, tidy and well presented
- Supporting with merchandising and maintaining attractive product displays
- Assisting with general day-to-day tasks to help the shop run smoothly as part of a small, close-knit team
Confident customer service skills and computer skills are essential for this role.
Working Hours & Benefits
- Working hours: 9:00am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday. During the busy Christmas period, hours are extended to 8:30am–5:30pm.
- Days of work: Monday–Friday during September and October. During November and December, working days change to Sunday–Thursday to cover the busy Christmas trading period. The usual Monday–Friday pattern resumes in January.
- Pay: £13.50 per hour, plus a £750 Christmas bonus.
- Additional bonus: A quarterly bonus is also available in addition to your hourly wage.
- Travel: A full driving licence and access to a car are essential, as Hatton Shopping Village has limited public transport access.
- The team: You’ll be joining a small, friendly team — and our workshop dog, Oscar, is a regular member of staff! So, a genuine love of dogs is a must.
